I am very pleased to have the honor to welcome all guests to the 21st Global Standards Collaboration (GSC-21) meeting. I also wish to express my deepest gratitude for your participation and cooperation in driving successful outcomes toward standards-related developments in Information and Communications Technologies.
I would also like to give special recognition to Dr. Elisabeth Stampfl-Blaha, Managing Director of the Austrian Standards Institute, for her contribution to international cooperation in the field of standardization and for providing the Austrian Standards Meeting Center facilities for GSC-21.
I look forward to a successful event and encourage you all to be engaged, excited and inspired at GSC-21.
Special message from Dr. Elisabeth Stampfl-Blaha, Managing Director, Austrian Standards Institute
It is not a coincidence that IEEE–the host of the 21st meeting of the Global Standards Collaboration on 26 and 27 September 2017–has chosen Vienna as the venue for this event. IEEE recently set up its European headquarters in the Austrian capital–on the premises of Austrian Standards where GSC-21 will take place.
As the Managing Director of Austrian Standards, I am looking forward to welcoming all participants at the Austrian Standards Meeting Center. I am also very pleased that during my term as ISO Vice President Technical Management I was instrumental for ISO and IEC joining this important network as GSC members.
Vienna is well known as a preferred gathering point for organizations from all over the world, hosting many successful conferences every year. So I am sure that the Austrian Standards Meeting Center, IEEE’s careful organization of the meeting and, above all, the special spirit of Vienna will contribute to the success of GSC-21 and foster the further development of the ICT standards network.
